Meet Dr. Kohler
Dr. James Kohler received his undergraduate degree from St. Olaf College, graduating summa cum laude. He then received his medical degree and residency training through the University of Minnesota. After living in Minnesota his entire life, he decided to move to a new region to complete his fellowship training. He completed his 2-year vitreoretinal surgery fellowship at the University of Utah John A Moran Eye Center. Throughout his years in ophthalmology, he has participated in research, national ophthalmology and retinal conferences, and resident training.
Dr. Kohler has received awards for outstanding surgical skills, commitment to teaching, and care for his patients. He is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Retina Specialists, and the Utah Ophthalmology Society.
Outside of his ophthalmology pursuits, Dr. Kohler enjoys hiking, camping, landscape photography, travelling, and spending time with his wife and two cats.
