Meet Dr. Winward
Dr. Winward graduated first in his class at both Brigham Young University and the University of Utah School of Medicine.
He completed a residency in ophthalmology and a fellowship in vitreoretinal diseases and surgery at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute.
He served as chief resident and as a faculty member of the Vitreoretinal Service, where he instructed residents and fellows and treated patients with complex retinal diseases.
Dr. Winward has authored many articles regarding basic science and clinical research of vitreoretinal diseases.
He is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, a diplomat of the National Board of Medical Examiners, an associate clinical professor at the University of Utah School of Medicine, a Heed Fellow, a recipient of the Paul Wintrobe Memorial Award, a former president of the Honor Medical Society Alpha Omega Alpha, a former president of the Utah Ophthalmology Society, and a member of both the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Retina Specialists.
He is listed in Best Doctors in America, Guide to Top Ophthalmologists, and America’s Top Ophthalmologists.
